Ethereal Visions Publishing was founded by curator and writer, Hope Hughes, and Gothic Art Nouveau artist, Matt Hughes. Together, the storytelling and artwork drive the brand's unique aesthetic across all tarot and oracle collections.
Ethereal Visions Publishing began like all good myths: with a spark of love and the quiet pull of fate. In 2016, Matt Hughes picked up his art supplies and created The Ethereal Visions Tarot—not initially for the market, but for Hope, his partner and fellow dreamer. Hope searched for a tarot deck that called to her, but found none, so Matt created the first tarot deck for her and the company.
That love project evolved into a crowdfunding campaign, which led to collaboration with US Game Systems, and ultimately became a calling that produced more stories and art.
Together, they create unique stories, characters, and art that combine Matt’s Gothic Art Nouveau style and Hope’s mythic storytelling.
